"Why single-sourcing is of vital importance to education"

Single-sourcing - producing multiple course components in multiple formats from a single master - has a strategic value that is of vital importance to education today. Many of the new Open Education Resource development projects including ConneXions at Rice University, single-source their learning materials for good reasons.
